Nationalism is the rise in a countries feelings that set it apart from other nations. Ottoman Empire was the sick man of Europe. The Young Turks created Turkey after WWI. Iran, Saudi Arabia and Palenstine, were all given options that if they attack Ottoman empire, then they will get their own land after WWI. Needless to say that after WWI most to all got owned by Britian or France.
