What were the attitudes of Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai-shek toward the roles of the middle class and the peasants in the new Chinese nation?

    Both of them wanted China to have a successful middle class. The reason the Communists won was because they in a sense made the upper and middle class seem closer together in terms of wealth, but Chiang Kai shek wanted the middle class to be richer but the upper class be even richer. The main issue was the Mao Zedong benefited the peasents more than Chiang Kai Shek did because he wanted them to be closer to the middle and upper class when Shek did not
