What changes occurred when human civilizations evolved from hunter-gatherers to settled societies?

As human civilizations evolved from hunter-gatherers to settles societies, some of the changes that occurred were the need for a written language and the need for a money system. With these changes, the lives of people were completely changed and became much less independent.
