Feudalism inspires the production of landmarks in the arts particularly in music. In these times music was a strange art. The minstrels were the professional musicians and they were responsible for entertaining and pleasing their highers by playing/singing music. They would occasionally base their songs off tales of battle and heroism of an individual. However, more predominantly the minstrels tended to put more focus on their instrument rather than their singing. While the upper class had minstrels, the lower class had more homely music. There have peasants and merchants of middle ages also who enjoyed music but because of their poverty they could not afford such expensive instruments and this lead to the advancement of singing as an art.
