Compare and contrast the "first wave" civilizations of egypt and mesopotamia

Both civilizations relied on agriculture and were located along the fertile valleys of major rivers. In addition, both civilizations believed in numerous gods that governed the various spheres of their lives. They also developed an ancient system of writing with Mesopotamia taking a lead in developing cuneiform writing system. In contrast the civilizations were located in different regions with Egypt being situated along the Nile and Mesopotamia being located along the Euphrates and Tigris river.
