Explain the process of development of state formation under the Gupta period.

In the beginning, the Guptas formed political alliances through marriages to get allies. When they got enough of them, they started conquering and were unstoppable. This led to more than 20 Hindu kingdoms being absorbed by them turning them into a force to be reckoned with.
