    In mythology. According to Hesiod, when Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus, the king of the gods, took vengeance by presenting Pandora to Prometheus' brother Epimetheus. Pandora opened a jar left in his care containing death and many other evils which were then released into the world.

    Meaning Behind Pandora:

    In Greek mythology, Pandora (meaning 'all-giving') was the first woman on earth. Before humans there were the immortals (the Gods and Titans). Most agree that Zeus asked Hephaestus to make Pandora (the first woman) also out of earth and water, and he intended her to be a punishment.
