Why was east prussia separated from the rest of germany?

It was sad alone and depressed because it was edgy and there were other countries that were all like "oh hey you want that land well cool we’re just going to hog it and separate you guys cause we don’t really care if it makes you feel bad and we can’t exist if we don’t have the land"
