What were the city politics in Birmingham? Why does it affect the movement?

    Birmingham was extremely racist and it supported many racist ideas like segregation and inequality when employing people and racial profiling and things like that that were humiliating and often even dangerous for the African-american population. It affected it by motivating it even more to fight and push for the civil rights laws.
