Why did people in the middle east and other parts of Asia experince hardship during the time of the european middle ages

Like everywhere else, leadership was heavily unstable and they had no way to prevent disease from outbreaking. The Black Death effected Asia as well. Places in Asia also struggled during their own conflicts and lust for power. There were different opposing powers at the time which made it unstable
