Why did China commit troops to fight in the Korean War

    There were two major reasons

    1. The first purpose was to push the American and United Nations forces away from Chinese soil as the U. S. and UN troops moved near the Yalu river.

    2. The second purpose was to strengthen the Chinese Communist Partys (CCP) prestige, and leadership in China.
