How much do we know about shakespeares life and why?

There isn’t much evidence on William Shakespeare’s life as he lived 400 years ago, and many documents of that time are destroyed, lost or never existed in the first place. Since there is little evidence of his private life, considerable speculation has been stimulated about his life, looks and authorship of his literal works. Even though only minority of academics question Shakespeare’s authorship, discussion on this subject is ongoing in 21st century. Although historians don’t know everything of his life, they can confirm that he truly has existed for there is proof that he was baptized in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 26th in 1564.
