Explain why Horton, Casely Hayford, and other educated black leaders of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries are important figures in the African struggle for independence.

    They were important because they wrote about many things that Britain and other colonizers were doing wrong and how they were harming the land and the people of Africa. They were important political activists in this aspect and inspired numerous people to join the pan-African movement and support independence from the colonizers.
