    Akbar the Great ruled the Mughal Empire from 1556-1605

    Akbar grew the Mughal Empire through conquest but use religious toleration as he expanded into new areas. He allowed the people of the empire to practice their own faith which gained him a reputation of greatness by removing taxes on the Hindu people. The empire tripled in size under Akbar and with it came walled cities with beautiful modern architecture.

    Akbar of India gained his reputation as a great ruler of India due to his many achievements in life. With his leadership, he’s greatly increased the size and wealth of the Mughal empire. He established a great military system. Also, he developed successful political and social reforms.
