I believe that Herodotus implied that the Nile was a gift. Not every person was fortunate to live by the Nile or near it. The individuals who did live by the Nile could utilize it for various reasons. It was utilized for transport, exchange and trade, assisted with the development of products and agriculture, and numerous different employments. Having the Nile, they could utilize it as a type of transportation to exchange quicker and less demanding. The Nile provided a large number of their needs. They could get food in the river, drink the water, and bathe in it. Moreover the flooding from the Nile caused their lands to be fertile, which in itself was another gift.
