    The soldiers that were recruited during that time period were mostly commonpeople who had not been more than 50 miles away from their house. When they went off to war they had seen things they had never even dreamed of. In this sensethe common man suddenly had knowledge of and when they went home they sharedthat. Because of the crusades people started to have an interest in learning. This lead to the Renaissance.
