Why did the general court in massachusetts banish several of its colonists?

People were banished from Massachusetts because they were spreading religion that was not deemed to be wanted. Anne Hutchinson was accused of spreading unorthodox religion and was banished alongside a few other people and they had to leave or suffer a fate worse than leaving.
