What led to the counterculture anti-war protests?

    The anti-war movements in the US started because of the U. S. involvement in the Vietnam war. It started among peace activists and leftist intellectuals, usually on college campuses. There were anti-war marches, and similar protests, a large number organized by the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS).
