The status of Taiwan is disputed because it historically belongs to China and was robbed from China by Chiang Kai Chek who when he was losing against the forces of Mao Tse Tung, took the reactionary people and fled to the island of Formosa and formed the renegade country of Taiwan. But it still belongs to China and should be re-united with the country it came from.
