    Chaucer wrote that the knight "loved chivalry, truth, honor, freedom and all courtesy." These traits represent an ideal feudal knight. Also, the text states that the knight has fought many battles and is considered brave. At the end of the prologue, the knight says he wants "to make peace with God." He is seeking forgiveness because of all the people he killed this shows his priorities and the importance of his Christian faith to him.
