Richard Nixon was an intelligent man however he was also ruthless and dishonest hence it is no surprise that opinion about him would keep shifting ... During his tenure, Nixon achieved a lot. This include forging diplomatic relations with China and the Soviet Union. However, he was also very controversial and he made huge mistakes among them his involvement in Watergate which tarnished his legacy in addition to deepening American cynicism about government.
