Describe the positioning of Lee's troops, which allowed them to beat the Union army at Fredericksburg.

    Lee's troops were positioned in a fortified position during the Battle of Fredericksburg. This is because they had time to entrench on high ground outside Fredericksburg. As a consequence, they boasted shooters on one side and cannons on opposite side which gave them an advantage.
