What was the League of Nations able to do to stop Italy from invading Ethiopia?

    After Italy invaded Ethiopia the League of Nations tried to impose economic sanctions but was considered ineffective. Support of the major powers were mixed were the British opposed the war, while other countries had little interest in east Africa. The overall attempt to keep Italy out of Ethiopia threw the League of Nations were considered ineffective.
