Why was the Judiciary Act of 1789 an important piece of legislation in U. S. history? It created the national treasury to maintain an economic balance between state and national government. It was the first legislation to establish a Presidential Cabinet. It allowed the Supreme Court to review state laws and state court decisions It provided for an Attorney General to handle legal business of the government.
