Why did coronado's expedition cause spain to lose some interest in the texas region?

    Coronado was looking for the supposed "Cities of Gold," but since they were unable to find anything of value, it deemed their expeditions a "failure." This led Spain to look elsewhere for areas to mine and take advantage of the natural resources.
