Extension--land ownership is taken away from voting criteria.

Limits--corruption of the voting system through open ballots, removal of the caucus system.

The 1820s redefined American democracy taken away the elitist part of needing to own land allowing for more commoners to vote. However, in cities voting became less private and therefore easier to manipulate. Also the caucus system was being removed in many states which allows for discussion and debate over candidates.
