    As the show Mad Men would have you believe, it was a very sexist time to be alive. For women, advertisements were drawn to show the woman in the home, taking care of the children, and providing to the husbands needs. For men, it was them being the head of the household and it was openly accepted that it was a man's right to keep the women in their place.
