List the different groups of people living in the southern colonies between 1620 and the 1700s. write two or three sentences about each group.

    1. British Colonists: Mostly English-born, they wanted to make new fortunes on those frontiers. The new form of commerce that they had, through their plantations led them to have slaves. 2. Slaves: Brought from Africa, initially as salaried workers, then unable to pay their debts ended up enslaved. They were strong people, who on several occasions rebelled against the mistreatment of their masters. 3. Scottish or Ulster Scots. Later they were known as Scots-Irish. Of protestant religion, at the moment its descendants can be of 20 to 27 million. 4. Indians Creek and Cherokee. They were the original inhabitants of the south, and they came to live with the Colonists. Although they did not live in the Southern Colonies, they traded with the Colonists.
