What events led to the conflict in Vietnam

    After world-war II was finished, Japanese influence in south East Asian Regions tarted to diminished.

    This led to to Russia tried to spread their communist influence within South East Asia, and Vietnam was one of their main target.

    To counter this, United States made several intervention to stop the communist influence in vietnam.

    This resulted in vietnam divided into 2 parts that supported each half of the cold-war perpetrators.

    The events that led to the conflict in Vietnam were when H. o Chi Minh came to power and he ordered the attack on the USS Maddox and another destroyer. The attacks in the gulf lead Congress to pass a resolution which allowed the president to take whatever measures necessary against the aggressor in any attack.
