Too many taxes and a lack of independence. Tell me if that's correct or not.

It happened on March 5, 1770, in Boston, Massachusetts. British soldiers killed 5 civilians, and injured 6 others. British troops had been stationed in Boston to enforce unpopular Parliamentary legislation. A mob formed around some British soldiers, and in response, they fired into the crowd, instantly killing 3 people and wounding others. 2 more people died later of wounds sustained in the incident.
