John Chupco is a leader of the Newcomer, a band of the Seminole who supported the Union from 1861 to 1866. He joined the Presbyterian Church Congregation in Wewoka, Oklahoma in 1869 where he became a rancher and a farmer and resisted the creation of Oklahoma territory concerning that it would damage the future of the Seminole.
