Why was the hollywood version of the western cowboy based more on fantasy than reality?

    To attract audience's attention and leave positive impressions toward the audience. If the story of western cowboy is depicted so it close to the real one, we will see that a lot of the fight that they initiated is being done through cruelty and false motive. They also not that good in dodging the bullets like we see in the movie.
