The Anti-federalists used ideas of classical republicanism through arguing for littler state and native governments. They felt that by having those in their groups speak to them, the government would be more relatable to the general population. Anti-federalists additionally contended that little "agrarian communities" will probably have civic temperance, which is when people put aside individual interests for the benefit of everyone.
