    The other major motivation of Wallace was to understand the origin of species.

    Russel Wallace was a British naturalist like Darwin. His greatest accomplishment was formulate the theory of evolution through natural selection. His theory, tough contemporary and very similar to Darwin’s evolution theory, was completely independent. They both formulate their theories roughly at the same time!
