What contacts did most plains Indians have with white people before 1850?

    They were mostly met by explorers in the 16th, 17th, and 18th century. They were nomadic and made tents of bison skin which could easily be folded and moved when they moved together in search of animals to hunt. People exploring westward regions would meet them and describe their lifestyle such as Coronado.
