Why did Native Americans object to the scientific study of Kennewick man

    From what I remember, the Native Americans believed that Kennewick man was an early ancestor of theirs. The government initially claimed the body since it was found on government land, but the Native Americans wanted to give it a proper burial. I believe this is the main reason they objected.
