What are the main political ideas put forth in the declaration of independence

The American Declaration of Independence explicitly states (and also implies) a number of important political ideas. Two of the most important are that governments rule the governed only by the consent of the latter and that any government that abuses its privileged role is rightly overthrown by the people suffering from its abuses.
