During the first phase of the American Revolution most major battles took place near the cities of Boston New York and Philadelphia why would controlling this region have been an important goal for both sides in the war

    This was a huge goal because at the top me all trades and ships were all on the east coast and controlling that region would hurt the other side baffle cutting them off supplies and food also the flow of money that was needed for the war to on each side to survive
