Kurtz had many ideas about idealism and race in terms of savagery. He was a white supremacist who held that values of the West were to be revered when everything is said and done. He believed that the ability to be civilized mean that a race or culture had no more or less savagery within them than those that were uncivilized. As a person from western culture he believed that he was a savior to the uncivilized.
