    Pros: it addressed the issues of poverty and provided a safety net for those struggling.

    Cons: it is a costly investment by the government to provide for those not providing for themselves.

    The Great Society did not reach all of the goals in particular for health care. Johnson aimed to achieve a national health care program but was only able to achieve a program for the poor and elderly.
