    Anti-federalists were concerned about the new constitution because of the following reasons:

    1. They felt that the Constitution gave too much power to the national government at the expense of the state governments.

    2. According to the anti-federalists, even within the national government, the legislative and executive branches were too powerful. Therefore, t hey worried that public officials would scheme to increase their power.
