Neolithic revolution is the transition from hunting and gathering and the nomadic life to the agriculture and permanent settlements, about 10,000 years ago. The spread of the agriculture led to the rise of class society.

Neolithic revolution was made possible by climate change at the end of the last Ice age. Neolithic revolution started in the Middle East. Agriculture was discovered independently at several locations in the world. In the Middle East rye, emmer and einkorn were cultivated about 8,000 BC.
