    16th of December is known as the Day of Reconciliation in South Africa. It is a public holiday to celebrate the unity of Africans and Afrikaners and to celebrate the end of Apartheid. It has been a public holiday since 1995 and is still celebrated today to promote the union of cultures and beliefs.
