Why did some americans distrust the executive and judicial branches of the government?

    Because they feared the abuse of power that they had experienced when they were subjects of the king and the royal governors. American trust that the legislature was the most popular branch of government. The people elected representatives. A power legislature was the initial thought to be the finest way to avert abuse of the power in another monarchy or dictatorship because the power was common.
