A little late but I believe it is C: The United States had increased its influence in the world because after the Spanish-American War Spain lost horribly leading America to gain Cuba, The Philippines, and Puerto Rico which were all colonies of Spain that wanted to become independent. America transformed into one of the top countries that benefited economically as well as politically.
