This was the genesis of the power elite theory which seeks to explain and describe the power relationships in contemporary society. The basic characteristics of this theory is that power in itself it concentrated among these elite groups, these groups are unified as opposed to none-elites who are diverse and powerless. This union enables the elite to rule over the none elites easily.
