What power does the governor of Georgia have to stop the state from spending too much money on unnecessary programs

Once the appropriations bill is passed, it goes to the governor for approval. The governor can approve the entire bill or pick out separate expenditure items to veto. The governor is granted the line-item veto power to remove expenseswhich he deems wasteful without affecting the entire bill.
