Why did the majority of americans sympathize with allies even before the US entered the war?

    They sympathized with allies because of there strong ties with and there was investment for the allied victory ... the event that triggered the united states entry into world war 2 was because the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor because they wanted to gain an empire in Asia.
