Why did the Renaissance begin later in Northern Europe than in Italy?

    It began later in the north because they had less exposure to trade and new ideas. The invention of the printing press was a primary factor of why it started in the north. Also, the Plague had delayed the Northern Renaissance from starting. There are many other factors that you can read about in the link below where the information that I wrote about came from.
