    Throughout the mid-19th century the northeastern part of the United States developed more due to its industrial based origin compared to the southern and the western states. This region produce huge amount of cotton textiles and shoes. The western states however experience an exponential growth in its population. The Southern states continued its development based on agriculture. By the end of the mid-19th century, United States has introduced various ways of transportation that was never before seen during the early part of the century, transportation like steamboats and railroads flourished.
